H1Bs taken care by California and Vermont centers. 485, 131 and 765 are handled by Nebraska and Texas centers.
Also, Nebraska is big and main center. They know how to handle load.

By seeing above numbers, you can see how USCIS handles load of millions of EAD applications every year. so, 600K is not a surprise for them. In 2003, they got more 2 million applications, but they handled well. But it may be take one or two months extra, i.e. 3+2 = 5 months maximum to get your EAD. Thats for sure. They will be prepared for that when you they allow us to file.
If you already applied for EAD now, then you will for sure have a EAD by December.

I don't agree with you Gayatri.
As per my experience, America does not have more educated skilled engineers. I have couple of friends who are MS holders and cannot fit with BE level engineers in India. I am talking about those guys who were born and grew up in the US. Secondly, most of the engineering companies have asians as engineering managers and directors. He had mentioned that most of the industries in silicon valley were started by immigrants from China and India. Do u want to count them as engineers from US?? They are the top engineers from the asian countries. So i don't buy his comments.
So are you judging all of India's education by the IIT's? I didn't graduate from IIT and so didn't 99.9% of Indian IT people.
I can tell you for a fact that Universities in America are much better than those in India. This is why I came here and I went to an average university here which I could afford.

I believe this is true. Indians know how to compete and will be world leaders because they work hard and think smart.

This might work, except that the law would have to be changed he other way also.
If they allow you to apply for 485, the law says that you have the right to EAD and AP which will make it then too cumbersome for CIS to handle.
That is why when you apply for Consular Processing, your approved Visa petition(140) remains on NVC(National Visa Center) and you do not get any fringe benefit until your PD is current.

CP does not have interim benefits but the papers (Form 230) does not stay at NVC. They process Form 230, approve it, update DOS about the approval and send them to respective consulates. My paper is in Chennai Consulate for the last 2 months (and may be several years in future).
I have a question to the experts here.

I know that CP and 485 share the same pool but that just sounds ridiculous knowing that thousands of numbers wasted despite that would very well take care of ALL applications pending at Consulates.

got FHA loan on EAD..... My EAD was is expiring in July.... So they were skeptical... I showed them FHA guideline.... showed old EAD and all previous 797s.... they approved 30 Fixed FHA.....

I never came here to study. Have you heard of IIT/REC's in India. I understand there are other colleges/universities in india which your are describing here or u might have studied there but same is true for US as all universities are not A grade. There is a way to tell the fact, not to exaggerate and that too by an indian. if an american say this i can understand that he is ignorant about the facts.

Can someone explain what "Temporary Restrain Order" would do if it were successful. It sounds to me that the lawsuit is asking the court to temporarily invalidate the July visa bulletin so that USCIS will be forced to accept the applications. Is this a reasonable understanding? Any lawyers here?

Seriously, does anyone have the transcript and slides/charts used? The good professor (Wadhwa) might be right, or wrong, or both. But I want to take a good look at the charts and the raw data. As they say, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
Of course, it is all an academic exercise.. Prof. Wadhwa (or me) can no more affect the global movement of knowledge and capital than King Canute could hold back the tide. But, it is far better an exercise than getting in the mud pit and hurling at each other :rolleyes:

Looks like they've been watching those Indian vigilante movies a lot and they think that they can get away with fighting a foreign Govt agency. They'll understand what we meant when they receive a cold shoulder from USCIS :D.

I think they prefer for us to be on H1 rather than on EAD because its easy to travel in & out of the country if you are on H1. If you use EAD then one has to use travel doucments which technically is to be used in an emergency. This is just my opinion!!

The H1B holder is ELIGIBLE for the stimulus package since he/she has SSN. He won't be able to claim the benefit for spouse if the spouse does not have SSN.
So just because spouse does not have SSN does not mean that the H1B holder becomes ineligible to receive the benefit. H1B will get $600 for himself/herself as long as he/she has filed IT returns.

These visa bulletins, and EAD renewals, and H-1B extensions are not going to cut it for those who want GC's sooner than later. Please help IV to help you.
1) Make those ever important phone calls, and
2) Contribute financially
Don't let this opportunity pass by. Don't let the same visa bulletin get you 3 years down the line. Only we can help push these reforms, no one else is out there to help us!
